The Club

About Metro Judo Club

Metro Judo Club is a BJA affiliated club, located at a state of the art dojo in Greenwich. The club has a wealth of experience, none more so than the senior coach, Mick Murphy. Supported by other coaches the club have produced two Olympian’s, Vicki Dunn (Sydney 2000) and most recently Gemma Gibbons (-78kg) London 2012 Silver medalist.

The club encourages participation from a young age, classes are available for judokas aged 5 years upwards.

I attended my first ever judo session at the Metro Judo Club when I was 6 years old, and Metro has been my judo home ever since. The club, its coaches and volunteers have supported me throughout my judo career.
There’s no way I would have achieved the medals I have, or become the person I am without the support I have received at Metro and from Mick. Whenever I pop down to the club now what stands out to me, aside from the amazing facilities, is how everyone is catered for.
The coaches look after each person with the same care and enthusiasm as they would give to an Olympic medalist. No matter your age, experience or level the club will provide you with a judo family that can last a lifetime.
